Finally, yesterday UNESCO published the list of cities that became part of the UNESCO 2021 Creative Cities Network. Despite not having received any official communication, we understand that if our city is not present, the candidacy has been unfavourable.

Last Sunday, November 14, a delegation from Sant Julià de Lòria council, travelled to the Terrassa Audio-visual Park to sign a collaboration agreement between the two cities for the creation of IMMATERIALS.

One of our projects included in the candidature plan has already come true. On October 30, it was inaugurated in the middle of the town in Casa Comuna (old Town Hall), the Sala Sergi Mas.

On October 14, Manises and Sant Julià de Lòria met virtually to share the way that the two cities have followed in their candidature.

On September 28, the different entities involved in the creation of the IMMATERIALS film contest, met to finalize details of the event presentation.

Casa Comuna (old town hall), where the town councils are still held on the ground floor, will soon open the renovated upper floors.

This afternoon we were able to enjoy one more year of one of the most traditional and popular events in our city: the Ball de la Marratxa.

The Sant Julià de Lòria Festival is always celebrated on the last weekend of July.

Yesterday at night, the fallaires lauredians came out to roll the hypnotic fireballs called falles. The group began its activity 25 years ago.

On June 21, 2021 at 5:30 p.m. in the Rocafort Auditorium of the Centre cultural i de congressos lauredià, the mayors given the official documents of the candidature of Sant Julià de Lòria to the Network of Creative Cities to the Andorran National Commission for UNESCO, so that the entity can make the official delivery to UNESCO headquarters in Paris.

The mayors, Josep Majoral and Mireia Codina, have traveled to Igualada as part of an official visit to strengthen cultural ties on the occasion of Sant Julià de Lòria’s candidature for the UNESCO Network of Creative Cities.

Carrara, member of the UNESCO Network of Creative Cities since 2017, is organizing the first edition of the “Creativity Forum” with other Italian cities in the network.
