the lyric tradition

Opera Season

Under the musical direction of the andorran soprano Jonaina Salvador, the Associació Andorra Lírica was born in 2016 with the intention of promoting opera in Andorra.

His main initiative is to organize a stable Opera Season in Andorra at the Claror Auditorium.

Its aim is to give continuity to the lyric in our country and to support any initiative in relation to the world of opera, for this reason it undertakes to maintain an annual calendar where concerts, operas and others lyrical manifestations are included. It is also committed to a new cultural tourism offering several weekend packs that are very attractive to opera lovers.

Andorran Lyric Association

The association has a pedagogical commitment in the country lyrical sector, providing lyrical training at Sant Julià de Lòria Opera School and at the Adult, Children’s and Youth Choir of the Andorran Opera.

At the same time, it has an important informative aspect with regular complementary activities such as lyrical conferences and workshops, rehearsals open to schoolchildren, courses and intensives for young people and adults or the monthly radio program on lyric "Toi toi toi” on Radiotelevisió d'Andorra.

Despite being a young association, it is very active in the projection of opera both nationally and internationally. Among the national premieres we can find more than fifteen proposals including operas, operettas, zarzuelas and concerts at the city’s Opera Season. We highlight productions such as “Carmen”, “La traviatta”, “Elisir d'amore”, “La fille du Regiment”, “Die lustige Witwe”, “Tutto Mozart”, “Hansel and Gretel” for children or “La corte de Faraón” with which they won the Ars Mediterranea International award in the music category.

In terms of screening abroad, Andorra Lírica has collaborated with the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona, with the Palau de la Música in Valencia, the Liceu Conservatory of Barcelona and the Villa Incanto Assotiation in Ancona (Italy).
